Whether you want to submit to a publisher, an agent or self-publish, it’s best to present more polished, developed work. The right editor can help you achieve that goal.

Experience Matters

Just as it’s the rewriting that makes the difference in a manuscript, it’s experience that makes the difference with an editor.

Alexandra Nahlous has two decades of editing and publishing experience. She worked in-house with major Australian publisher Allen & Unwin as a senior editor and Pan Macmillan Australia as a fiction publisher.

And she won the Beatrice Davis Editorial Fellowship in 2009–10, Australia’s most prestigious arts award for editors, and spent three months working with New York publishers.

In 2013, she began her freelance editing business, and she works with major and independent publishers, agents, and directly with authors.

She also works with a variety of clients editing reports and producing original content in the digital space.

Alexandra taught Professional Editing at the University of Technology, Sydney between 2013 and 2016, and she has presented numerous workshops for writers, including at the Sydney Writers’ Festival, Writing NSW, Writers Unleashed! Festival, and RWA Conference.

Whether you’ve written your first manuscript or your fifth one, whether you’re submitting your work to an agent or publisher, or are self-publishing, Alexandra’s expert eye will help you to develop it and polish it so that it is of the highest quality.
